This Thursday, on June 8, 2017 the Institute of Legal Practice and Development organized its 6th graduation ceremony at its headquarters located in Nyanza District, Southern Province. Graduates included 310 Rwandans and 118 lawyers from different nationalities who fulfilled all academic requirements to be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
“In his address to the graduates, the Ag Rector of ILPD, Aimable HAVUGIYAREMYE reminded the graduates that they were equipped with a set of skills that met the legal market in both common law and civil law traditions. He said “as we send you into the world today, remember that you are your countries’ legal future. Understand that you have the power to make a difference, so use it well.”
The Minister of Justice/Attorney General, Mr Johnston BUSINGYE who graced the event, congratulated the graduates on becoming professionals. “I urge you dear graduates to fight hard for everything they need in life, use the skills you have obtained from ILPD to shield and advocate for justice, equity, ethics, integrity and independence wherever you may be.” Said the Minister of Justice Johnston Busingye.
The graduates were 310 from Rwanda, 6 from Cameroon, 14 from Kenyan, 5 from South Sudan, 2 from Burundi and 91 from Uganda.
