Short Bios:

Jean Pierre Tuyishime is a Lecturer at ILPD where he teaches financial transactions and East African Community Law. He is a member of Rwanda Bar Association and East African Law Society. He practices law under FIXLEX LAW CHAMBERS, a law firm he founded in Kigali. His main areas of practice are corporate and financial transactions as well as EAC law.  Before joining ILPD and FIXLEX LAW CHAMBERS, He served at CERTA LAW as Attorney. Before his call to the bar, Jean Pierre served as Senior Legal Officer at EQUITY BANK RWANDA PLC and beforehand was Legal Officer at ACCESS BANK RWANDA PLC. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is a holder of a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (DLP) from ILPD and a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from Kigali Independent University, Rwanda. Jean Pierre is also a Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a U.S. government’s signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders.
