Equivalence for one’s degree

Candidates need to note that for foreign degrees or certificates that were not issued by a Rwandan Higher Institutiton of Learning, must get an equivalence. Foreign degrees or certificates have to be equated with Rwandan degrees or certificates so that Rwandan institutions may ably  assess the eligilbility  and qualifications of the candidate before admission.

With the above therefore, candidates that have their degrees should send them to the Higher Education Council (HEC)and apply for their equivalence in time. For those that do not yet have their degrees but have got other documents in place of the degrees , they should request the issuing institutions (where they got the document from) to accompany them with a separate document addressed to HEC to explain the authenticity and value of that document so that they may also secure an equivalence.

The application for equivalence may be done through Irembo platform on the following link https://irembo.gov.rw/rolportal/web/hec/application-for-equating-degrees-diplomas-and-certificates?menu-highlight=CAT
